This is the final year-end/pre-year post we have for you, and it encompasses the idea of moving forward and improving. There are details in the air, rumors running rampant, but these are the confirmed, most anticipated projects of 2015. They’re set for the new year, which gives us an even better idea of how music will end up next time we do these posts.

Frank Ocean – Unknown

Frank Ocean has shared only a few details to his forthcoming album, but we know it will be as glorious or even more glorious than Channel Orange.

Death Grips – The Powers that B

Despite their sudden break up in 2014, the duo known as Death Grips will be back with a new project titled The Powers that B in 2015.

James Blake – Unknown

James Blake took over the world in 2014 without a large release, so perhaps 2015 will be even bigger. Who knows?

Chance the Rapper – SURF

After conquering a long-lasting tour, Chance the Rapper‘s latest news on SURF cut through the internet like a CutCo knife. Definitely one to expect greatness from in the new year.

Kanye West – Unknown

Do I really need to explain why? It’s Kanye West. Jesus.

Grimes – Unknown

Besides other news about Grimes, her new project has been more subtly arising, but Brightside is more than excited for the turnout.

Will Butler – Policy EP

Will Butler, member of Arcade Fire and brother to Win Butler, is set to release his first solo project Policy this year.

Joey Bada$$ – B4.Da.$$

Besides a few run ins with cops and another tragedy in 2014, Joey Bada$$ has been a longtime favorite who we are extremely excited to see drop newbies in 2015.

Run the Jewels – RTJ3 & Meow the Jewels

Killer Mike and El-P ran train on the hip-hop game in 2014, and they are no closer to the end than they were last year. 2 projects in the docket, these guys are a close follow for us.

Portugal. the Man – Unknown

portugal. the man

It’s been a while since we heard from our favorite Portugal. the Man, but this year looks like a promising opportunity for a new record. Be warned, they’re legendary.

Action Bronson – Mr. Wonderful

Bronsoliño has been one of our favorites to analyze lyrics from, and his newest release of “Actin’ Crazy” falls into the same folder. We’re ready for you, you big boy.

The xx – Third Album

The xx is a duo of mystery, and so is their third album due out this year.

Sampha – Debut Album

Sampha hit the 2014 scene like a velvety drop of vanilla with the vocals of a god. 2015 he hits it as the same but with an album.

Brodinski – Brava

Brodinski is a certain long time follow for us, and has been. Good thing we wait no longer for a full length this year.

Purity Ring – Unknown LP

Purity Ring touched down on different styles in 2014, but in 2015 we will see just how those experiences translate into a project format.

Raury – Follow Up to Indigo Child

Raury started a conversation in 2014, and let’s see how he follows it up in 2015.

Kendrick Lamar – Unknown

He owes us basically, but Kendrick‘s new album is one of the most anticipated of all time.

Modest Mouse – Strangers to Ourselves

The excitement for Modest Mouse‘s upcoming project sprouts from a long standing history with the band’s previous works. And childhood.

Drake – Views from the 6

Drake is one to always drop “Here and Theres”, but we’re ready for another one like Take Care.

Disclosure – Unknown?

Slightly unsure and chalked full of hope, the Brightside team hopes to god there is something in store for us from Disclosure.

Jamie xx – Debut Album

Jamie xx has been apart of the modern music uprising for years, but we finally get a debut album from him this year, and we’re shaking.

MF Doom & DJ Premiere – Unknown

After taking requests from all hip-hop heads, the man MF Doom and DJ Premiere will finally be releasing joints together in 2015.

Radiohead – Unknown

Since Kid A is an all time favorite for me personally, Radiohead’s new album of 2015 is a definite must-have, must-listen, and must-obsess-over project.

A$AP Rocky – Unknownasap-rocky

“Jodye 2” was an ice hint at what we might see from A$AP Rocky this year, let’s just hope his interest in fashion hasn’t made him rusty…

John Saunders

Enjoy yourselves and be offended. Word is bond.
