09 Jan Chance the Rapper and James Blake Are Going to Be Roomies [News]
In an interview with NME, Chance the Rapper revealed he will most likely be leaving his childhood home in Chicago for the first time. “I’ve never lived anywhere other than this house,” Chance said, “the one I grew up in Chicago. It will probably be like being on vacation for the first couple of months. Then I’ll start figuring out what kind of music I’ll be making.”
Chance will be switching to the sunny streets of Los Angeles, and he’ll have a new roomie already in order. None other than Brit, James Blake. “We’re probably going to make a bunch of shit every day,” Chance continued. “I don’t know what we’re going to do with it. We might give some shit to other artists. We’re getting a compound.”
This kind of magic only comes true in those old movies where the most unlikely of roommates come together to form a superb team, but we sure do hope the greatest piece of music flutters its way out of their downtown apartment.
In an earlier interview with MTV, the two provided details about the future abode. Chance insisted on a “swaggy spot…with the four-person bunk beds with the slide at the top.” Blake was a little more hesitant, but definitely kinda into it.
Chance the Rapper and James Blake collabed on a piece called, “Life Round Here,” which can be found here.
